“Rajeev Samant and Kerry Damsky established Sula Vineyards in 1997, situated in Nashik, India’s largest grape-growing region. They pioneered French grape varieties like Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. Today, Sula Vineyards cultivates Shiraz, Zinfandel, Viognier, and other international varieties, and they are recognized as India’s premium wine producer.

The Viognier grapes for this reserve grow in their hillside vineyards in Dindori. These vineyards feature gentle slopes and gravel red soils rich in iron and calcium. A huge lake ensures uniform ripening at this site, leading to grapes of optimum maturity.

They manually harvest and sort the grapes in the vineyards. Then, they gently whole-cluster press the grapes, and chill the juice to about 6°C. They inoculate the clarified juice, initiating a slow, cool fermentation. They ferment the juice in stainless steel tanks for 25-30 days. After settling for 45 days, they blend, fine, stabilize, and filter the tank lots, resulting in the elegant Sula Dindori Reserve Viognier 2022.”
